Dr Maya

I do not really comprehend

What mysteries unfolded

In the heart of this place,

But what I can discern

Is that I am moved

In ways beyond my understanding,

My body and my mind

Touched by the work of love.

I feel it in the antenna of myself

And in the knowing

Where love meets love,

And in the opening to the greater union.

Some may let this seeing slide

And go unacknowledged,

But my heart swells

To say this truth out loud

And bow to the profundity

Come upon me.

I stand grateful before you

And thankful for the alignment of the stars,

Your lineage

And your guru’s touch

That saw you born as I am born

To the wonder of it all,

The blessed fall into the ground of being.

The News

To the screen we look,
Consuming the fast food
Of news and media’s
Rumour fat fact.

We’re obese on it.
It’s thick in our blood,
Congealed arterial,
Congealed – congested.

If you asked us to change,
Try a different diet
– Thoughts healthy and positive –
We’d agree to affirmation

Then tiptoe in the secret night
To feast on 24 hour rolling junk.
We’d munch like we’re addicted
And smile the innocent lie

Each light day, remaining unchanged
As we had intended. Our need to live
In fear, the foodstuff from which our lives
Spread out in concentric rings.

We Are Of Two Minds

These days
The lonely words spoken in your head
That seem to shout, condemn
And measure you
Against just about everything else,
Pronouncing you lacking
In all of what you could, would and ought to be,
And thus leaving you
Feeling quite sorry
And down about the mouth,
Can now be named

The modern day, 21st century singular self,
So – individual
So – off the peg,
So – go it alone
So – going along with everybody else,
So – I don’t need anybody
So – in need of every other one.

Where speaks the other language,
The older self beyond the singular
Where love is prolific
And condemnation
Is past magic
No longer used
In the mind’s
Spacious vessel
Of new beginnings
And things born
To freshness
And the moods
Of kindness
Flushing the body
Energised and clean?

Where speaks the other mind?
